Epilogue
Epilogue
The years pass.
The body declines.
When do we make the transition to a half full glass is a full glass?
What is desire and suffering?
When do we commit to joy?
The delusions eventually become unsustainable.
Reality is what is now.
The part of the glass that is half empty is an illusion.
What is left is life.
Enlightenments still happen.
Our complex inner life still exists.
Focus is on what exists.
We revel in what is before us.
What is the payoff for misery?
What is the reward for negative thoughts?
Nature doesn't invent something that isn't needed at the time it was developed.
Pain and suffering are normal.
We learn from our negative experiences and thoughts.
These memories can help us make better decisions.
Wisdom is accumulated.
At some point the learning from these memories are no longer worth the emotional suffering that is attached to them.
The advantages that these negative emotions and traits are outweighed by the suffering that is attached to them.
Accumulated wisdom is sufficient to negotiate choices.
The delusions that help drive our desires and attachments wane as reality of our situation sets in.
Desire for something that isn't there produces suffering.
Many people still have attachments as death approaches.
We have to let go suffering and
experience everything as joy without attachments and judgements.
Buddhism refers to a final state marked by the absence of desire and suffering.
Don't worry about obtaining this state.
Live a balanced life enjoying yourself.
